Rapper Pooh Shiesty has been released from federal custody after completing roughly three years of a five-year, three-month prison sentence, his attorney Bradford Cohen confirmed.
“@poohshiesty is ready,” Cohen wrote on Instagram on October 7. “Wait until you see hus [sic] comeback. He will be bigger than ever. I am always glad to see a client start the climb back up to elite status. Always kept it 100.”
The lawyer added, “The government wanted 10…he got 3. I always think there is a plan for people and his story isnt over its just starting.”
The rapper was reportedly released early on October 6 due to time served and good behavior.
Pooh Shiesty, real name Lontrell Williams Jr., pled guilty to conspiring to possess firearms in furtherance of crimes of violence and drug trafficking in January 2022, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida. He accepted a plea deal that reduced his potential sentence.
As part of that plea, Williams “admitted to participating in the conspiracy” on three occasions detailed in court documents.

The first took place in Memphis on July 7, 2020, when someone riding in a car with the rapper “discharged a firearm at a gas station.” Then on October 9, 2020, in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida, Shiesty and his “co-conspirators” met with others to s “acquire marijuana, codeine, and sneakers.” The meeting turned violent when a member of his group pulled out a weapon and assaulted two people.
On May 20, 2021, Shiesty “assaulted a victim with a firearm at a Miami strip club,” according to federal prosecutors.
In April 2022, Williams received a 63-month prison term and three years of supervised release.
