Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, and social media activist VeryDarkMan have both rejected offers of N100 million and N120 million, respectively, to face off in a proposed boxing match, escalating their ongoing feud.
Both individuals have demanded significantly higher sums, with Portable insisting on N1 billion and VeryDarkMan requesting $1 million to enter the ring.
The clash between Portable and VeryDarkMan began when the singer criticized the activist for his vocal opposition to President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
The feud has since intensified, with both parties releasing diss tracks and engaging in heated exchanges on social media. Amid this online rivalry, music executive Soso Soberekon proposed a boxing match, offering N120 million for the duel, which VeryDarkMan deemed disrespectful.
In a viral Instagram video, VeryDarkMan recounted rejecting a $100,000 offer in 2024 to fight American rapper 50 Cent, who was to be paid $5 million for the same event.
VeryDarkMan, whose phone is currently with the EFCC, insisted on a minimum of $1 million for any fight, citing his worth and past negotiations facilitated by Tunde Ednut and the president of the boxing federation, Omo-Agege.
Addressing Soberekon’s offer, he stated, “N100 million cannot even buy you a good house in Abuja. Soso, you are very disrespectful.
“If you want me to fight, bring $500,000 first before I sit to discuss the balance.”
Similarly, Portable dismissed the N100 million offer as inadequate, claiming it was a sum his fans had already gifted him.
In a viral video, he challenged promoters to offer N1 billion for the fight, asserting, “N100m is small for me to fight VDM.
“Let them give me one billion, and I will fight him and beat him. Someone you can’t hold, you are now asking me to fight and beat him. You are scared of him, you can’t jail him.”
The ongoing dispute has captivated social media, with both figures standing firm on their demands.
As the feud continues, it remains unclear whether promoters will meet their lofty financial expectations to bring this high-profile boxing match to fruition.
