The drama between controversial singer Portable and Nollywood actress Laide Bakare just took another turn, and this time, it’s musical.
Earlier this week, Portable called out Laide Bakare in a viral video, alleging that she had invited him to perform at her party but didn’t have money to pay. According to him, he declined the invite and she got upset, allegedly calling him “a dirty boy from Sango.”
Laide didn’t take the accusation lightly. She responded in Yoruba via a video post, warning Portable to keep her name out of his mouth. In the clip, she threatened to beat him in yoruba “dabara bo e” (a Yoruba expression suggesting a hard slap on the back), adding that she won’t tolerate disrespect.
In true Portable fashion, the singer didn’t let it slide. He has now dropped a diss track aimed squarely at Laide Bakare, using her own words particularly the slap reference as part of the chorus and lyrical jabs in the song.
