The 27-year-old attacker touched down Kigali on Monday, alongside William Troost-Ekong, Calvin Bassey, Ola Aina and Alex Iwobi ahead of Nigeria’s crucial World Cup qualifier against Rwanda on Friday. After the team’s second training session, Lookman admitted he’s feeling positive about the ideas Eric Chelle has implemented among the rest of his teammates. “I’m not feeling any pressure at all. I’m just glad to be back with the squad, back with the guys. We have a big task ahead of us and we’re looking forward to it,” the former Everton man said in an interview with OJB Sports. “We’ve have loads of meetings about how the manager wants us to play, our game plan, and aspects of how we defend and attack, so it’s all positive. “We’re all keying into his ideas. As a group, we’ve had our second session today, and yesterday’s session went well too, so, positive feelings,” the 2024 UEFA Europa League winner concluded. “No pressure at all. I’m just really happy to be back with the squad and the guys. We’ve got a big challenge ahead, and we’re all excited to take it on.” –Lookman on his first game for Nigeria since winning CAF Player of the Year last year.#ojbsports #OJBinKigali pic.twitter.com/MOPUNolNaA — Ojora Babatunde (@ojbsports) March 19, 2025 Ademola Lookman was out with an injury the last time the Super Eagles of Nigeria took on Rwanda back in November at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
