RHOP Alum Mia Thornton Still Behind Bars After Arrest, Unable to Afford Bail

The situation surrounding former Real Housewives of Potomac star Mia Thornton continues to grow more serious by the day.

Not only was Mia arrested at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport in connection with an alleged furniture theft case, but she is also still sitting in jail because she has not been able to post bail, according to multiple reports tied to the case.

Court documents reveal that months before her arrest, Mia was already facing eviction and financial trouble tied to unpaid rent at a luxury Atlanta property. A management company called Encore Management filed a lawsuit claiming Mia and associate Jared McGriff failed to pay thousands in rent for a high end three bedroom unit.

They reportedly demanded past due rent, ongoing monthly payments and additional fees. A separate eviction filing earlier this year in North Carolina also alleged failure to pay rent at another property.

Arrest and Allegations

On November 19, police responded to an active warrant involving alleged theft of furniture from the Atlanta rental. The landlord’s representative claimed Mia and McGriff abruptly moved out in the middle of the night and removed furniture and a television that were already in the unit before they moved in.

Invoices provided to police showed the items were valued at more than $11,000. Mia was taken into custody without incident and transported to Fulton County Jail.

Still In Jail Because Bail Has Not Been Paid

Sources close to the situation confirm that Mia remains behind bars because she has not been able to afford the required bail to secure her release. While many reality stars manage to resolve legal issues quickly, Mia’s continued incarceration highlights just how serious her financial situation may be.

At this time, no bond has been posted and no official release date has been scheduled.

Emotional Bodycam Footage

In bodycam video from the arrest, Mia appeared visibly distressed and told officers she wanted the furniture returned. She also claimed messages were sent asking for the items to be put back, calling the situation overwhelming.

RHOP Exit Now Under New Light

Mia previously announced she would not return to Real Housewives of Potomac, explaining that her family planned to start fresh in Atlanta. At the time, she framed the move as a positive new chapter. Now, that transition appears to be unfolding under intense scrutiny and legal challenges.

As of now, Mia remains incarcerated while the case continues to develop.
