Nigeria international Victor Boniface has seen moves to Al Nassr and AC Milan fail in recent months as his spell in Bayer Leverkusen increasingly looks close to the end
West Ham United have been offered the chance to sign Nigerian striker Victor Boniface after his proposed move to AC Milan collapsed, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Bayer Leverkusen forward, who struck 11 goals in all competitions last season, was close to sealing a switch to Italy on loan with an option to buy for around £21m.
However, the transfer broke down after the 24-year-old reportedly failed a medical, leaving his future uncertain just days before the window closes.
A report by Give Me Sport indicate intermediaries have now presented Boniface to West Ham, with Leverkusen open to letting him leave despite the forward having four years left on a contract worth close to £95,000 per week. The Bundesliga club were initially willing to sanction his move to Milan but have since been circulating his name across Europe as he looks for a new challenge.

The Hammers, who have endured a poor start to the Premier League campaign with three straight defeats, are already strengthening their squad with deals for Portugal Under-21 midfielder Mateus Fernandes and Monaco defender Soungoutou Magassa. Yet manager Graham Potter is also weighing up whether to add a striker before Monday’s 7pm deadline.
Boniface’s physicality and scoring record suggest he could adapt well to English football, and his availability has alerted several Premier League clubs.
West Ham, who won the UEFA Conference League in 2023, remain focused on bolstering midfield and defence first. Still, a late move for the Nigeria international, who also came awefully close to joining Saudi Arabia giants Al Nassr in January, has not been ruled out.
Whether West Ham push ahead with an offer may depend on how quickly their other negotiations conclude. For Boniface, the prospect of testing himself in the Premier League remains an attractive step in his career.
