WATCH THE VIDEO HERE Super Eagles stars Taiwo Awoniyi and Ola Aina were on the losing side as Nottingham Forest fell to a disappointing 3-1 defeat against Newcastle United at City Ground, Soccernet.ng reports. Nottingham Forest were in decent form in recent weeks, as they have secured three wins, one draw, and one loss from their last five games. And they were looking to continue that run when they welcomed Newcastle United to the City Ground. Super Eagles defender Aina, who has been a regular for the Tricky Trees, returned to the starting eleven, while Awoniyi, remained on the bench as Chris Wood kept his place in the first team. Nottingham Forest got a dream start, as they got the lead in the 21st minute, courtesy of a header from Murillo. However, Newcastle bounced back in the second half, courtesy of goals from Alexander Isak, Joelinton, and Harvey Barnes. Aina had a decent showing with two tackles, 65 touches, and three ground duels won. But his performance was not good enough to give his side the win. Awoniyi was introduced into the game in the 88th minute to give Forest an extra bite. Unfortunately for him, he failed to make a meaningful impact. The loss ensured that Nottingham Forest dropped to fifth, pending the result of the game between Arsenal and Chelsea. Elsewhere, at Old Trafford, Wilfred Ndidi got 70 minutes of action in their 3-0 smacking at Manchester United. The Super Eagles star registered 39 touches, an 88% pass accuracy, and three goal attempts. He had a good opportunity to score for Leicester City in the first half, but his strike was saved by Andre Onana. It eventually ended 3-0 against Leicester City at Old Trafford.
