WATCH THE VIDEO HERE The Presidency has dismissed a US court ruling directing the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to release documents related to President Bola Tinubu’s past investigation. Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, emphasized that the records are decades old and contain no new revelations, having been publicly available for over 30 years. “The report by Agent Moss of the FBI and DEA have been in the public space for more than 30 years. The reports did not indict the Nigerian leader,” Onanuga said. He added that the Presidency’s lawyers are currently reviewing the US court ruling. Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication, echoed similar sentiments, stating that the information being sought wouldn’t differ from what’s already in the public domain. “Nothing’s new at all… Everything has been in the public domain for ages,” he said, attributing the buzz around the news to media and opposition interpretation. The Presidency maintains that the court ruling adds no fresh dimension to Tinubu’s past.
