Nigeria’s presidency on Sunday released the full details of President Bola Tinubu’s discussion with Massad Boulos, the United States Department’s Senior Advisor for Africa.

Recall that the president met with Boulos in Paris on Thursday during his visit to France.

A statement by Bayo Onanjga, the presidential aide on information and strategy said the meeting focused on how Africa, Nigeria and the United States of America can develop strategic economic and security partnership.

He said this partnership is expected to hinge on mutual respect, foster prosperity and regional stability.

According to Onanuga, Boulos also said that President Donald Trump is interested in deepening direct engagement with Nigeria, which he described as a cornerstone for US relations with West Africa.

He also said that Boulos informed Tinubu that the US President is eager to work with him to expand America’s investments in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

Onanuga stated, “Both sides discussed actionable support and shared their perspectives on regional peace, particularly in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and across the Sahel.

“President Trump’s advisor recognised Nigeria’s regional and continental leadership and supported President Tinubu’s interventions to stabilise key African regions,” he said.

During the discussion, President Tinubu assured the US advisory that Nigeria is ready to build productive alliances with the Trump administration.

This alliance, the president believes would focus on transparency, opportunity, mutual respect and outcomes that strengthen Africa’s place in the global economy.
