President Tinubu Approves Fresh Appointment

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Mahmud Sanusi Mohammed as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority.

Naijaonpoint reports Dr. Mohammed hails from Taraba, Jalingo Local Government Area. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Disaster Management and Safety Science.

He holds a Degree in Geography, Postgraduate Diploma in Geographic Information Systems (GIS)and Remote sensing, Masters In Disaster and Risk Management and Development Studies, all from the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.

The new boss of the Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority is also a member, board of trustees, Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN).

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Senate, on Wednesday, confirmed the appointments of 21 federal commissioners for the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

The appointees were confirmed during the day’s plenary presided over by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

The confirmation was sequel to the presentation and consideration of the report of the Joint Committee on National Planning and Economic Affairs and Finance for the Confirmation of the Nominations for Appointment as Federal Commissioners in the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

Senator Yahaya Abdullahi, who presented the report said, “That the Senate do receive and consider the report of the Joint Committee on National Planning and Economic Affairs and Finance on the confirmation of the nominations for appointment as Federal Commissioners in the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).”

The confirmation follows their appointment by President Bola Tinubu, who forwarded their names to the lawmakers for confirmation.
