President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the 16th Emir of Gusau, Dr. Ibrahim Bello.
Naijaonpoint reports that the respected ruler died in Abuja on Friday morning at the age of 71, after a prolonged illness.
Reacting, President Tinubu described the late monarch as a dedicated traditional leader who lived a life of service to his people and the nation.
In a condolence message issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described the Emir’s passing as a collective loss that transcends his immediate domain.
“The Emir will be remembered for his commitment to the cause of his people,” Tinubu said, noting that Bello’s life was marked by a strong sense of duty, commitment to development, and exemplary leadership.
The President further acknowledged the late monarch’s contributions while serving in various public roles before ascending the throne, including his time in the civil service, where he rose to the rank of Permanent Secretary in the old Sokoto and Zamfara States.
Tinubu extended his heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Zamfara State, the Gusau Emirate Council, and the family of the late monarch.
“May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannah Firdaus,” the President prayed.
