THE Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, has announced that he is taking an indefinite leave of absence.

Ngelale stated that this decision followed extensive discussions with his family in recent days, as a troubling medical condition has deteriorated.

In a statement released today, he noted that he has informed the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, through a memo.

He also mentioned that he has resigned from his roles as Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen.

“On Friday, I submitted a memo to the Chief of Staff to the President, notifying my office that I am taking an indefinite leave of absence to address medical issues currently affecting my immediate family,” he explained.

“While I understand that the government must continue its work, this difficult decision—requiring me to pause my responsibilities as Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Official Spokesperson for the President, Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action, and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen—was made after careful consideration with my family over the past few days as a challenging medical situation has escalated at home.

“I look forward to resuming my national duties when circumstances allow. I kindly request privacy for my family and me during this time.”

This leave of absence means he will temporarily halt his responsibilities as spokesperson for President Bola Tinubu.
