Private Sector Credit Extension Rises to N71.2trn

By Adedapo Adesanya Private sector credit extension (PSCE) increased by 66 per cent year-on-year to N7.12 trillion as of the end of March 2024, the latest data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) showed. This marks a deceleration compared with the growth of 94 per cent year-on-year recorded in the previous month. On a month-on-month basis, PSCE extension declined by 12 per cent indicating that previous policy rate hikes by the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) are starting to be transmitted through the economy.
