Authorities are calling this one of the biggest fentanyl seizures in the region — and say the bust likely saved thousands of lives.
Federal officials didn’t hold back either. The U.S. Attorney said the arrests prove fentanyl traffickers “may run, but they cannot hide.” The DEA echoed the same, saying the haul is a “direct hit” to the criminal networks pushing poison into American communities.
Both men are now in federal custody facing charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute fentanyl. The case carries a maximum sentence of life in prison and a mandatory minimum of 10 years.
