Rapper Ksoo, real name Hakeem Robinson, is on trial for the shooting death of Charles McCormick and yesterday in court, his father testified against him as part of a plea deal.
Abdul Robinson Sr. was grilled on the stand by Ksoo’s defense attorney, who asked:
“What’s worse…a life in prison or a premature death?”
When Robinson Sr. seemed unsure, the attorney pressed harder:
“Your testimony could result in a life sentence for your boys– and I’d like to know if you consider a life sentence to be worse than death for them. Do you get my question now?”
“Yeah,” Robinson Sr. replied.
“Is what you’re doing to them worse than killing them?”
“Yeah,” he answered again.

Despite that response, Robinson Sr. didn’t fold and again identified his son as the man behind the trigger.
A dash cam mounted to a witness’s truck is the only video evidence in the case but Ksoo’s legal team says the shooter in the video is too big and too tall to be him.
In his deposition, Robinson Sr. said he recognized his son in the footage. When asked how he could tell, he said that he knows his kids.
So when he was asked in court to ID the shooter again, Robinson Sr. paused before he said:
“My son.”
Robinson Sr. has already pleaded guilty to being an accessory in the case, admitting he helped Ksoo’s alleged co-defendants burn the clothes worn during the murder. He also pleaded guilty in a separate case where he admitted to soliciting a hit that went wrong and resulted in the death of innocent cyclist David Rothermel.
Robinson Sr. defended his decision to snitch on his own son, telling the court he’s trying to get home to his younger kids as well as citing serious health issues: diabetes, kidney failure, and congestive heart failure. In exchange for his testimony, he was given a sentence of 76 months, most of which he’s already served, meaning he could be out in less than a year.
