Rapper Rod Wave was taken into custody in Atlanta on multiple drug and weapon-related charges on Friday.
He was charged on the same day he received his first-ever Grammy nomination for Best Song Written for Visual Media for “Sinners,” featured in the 2025 film of the same name.
Authorities said the Atlanta Police Department arrested the 27-year-old artist on Nov. 7. Records show he faces four counts, including possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a felony, reckless driving, and two counts of controlled substance possession.

He was released from custody on Nov. 8, the day after his arrest.
In a statement to TMZ, Green’s legal team slammed the arrest, alleging that their client was “unjustly profiled and unlawfully detained.”
They claimed the officer involved is part of the department’s Crime Suppression Unit, which they described as “notorious for its aggressive tactics” and a “quota-driven approach” that prioritizes arrests over community safety.
Attorney Drew Findling confirmed that Green has already made his initial court appearance and was freed on $8,000 bond.
