I have read with a mixture of amusement and disappointment your so-called open letter, a document wrapped in fake courtesy but dripping with deep-seated resentment. From the very first line, it is obvious that your mission is not to offer corrections but to launch an unprovoked attack on a man whose leadership record dwarfs the relevance of whoever sent you. And let it be clear: insulting Oyetola will not advance any agenda, either for you or for the political lightweight you are subtly fronting for.
Your second paragraph, where you vaguely claim Oyetola’s performance is “debatable,” only exposes your unfamiliarity with the facts. Debate his fiscal transparency, his stride on health, his peaceful disposition to governance, his infrastructural strides, and his record of managing Osun without borrowing one kobo, noise or waste, do not twist the reality. Saying he is “not a unifier” shows either deliberate dishonesty or a personal problem with English. Except there is another meaning for unifier in your dictionary, the calibre of leaders APC has attracted to its fold in the last three years is a clear testament to the unity and stability Oyetola’s leadership has brought to the party in Osun.
Your next attempt at claiming that you want to “help him discover himself” is not only ridiculous but downright insulting. How does a man hiding under a pseudonym intend to help a 71-year-old, globally successful insurance guru, administrator and federal minister “rediscover himself”? That single line does not insult Oyetola; it exposes your own arrogance and lack of self-awareness.
Equally, your attempt to drag Osogbo and Iragbiji into your confusion, accusing Oyetola of rupturing relationships, exposes you as someone lacking in sense of history. Apart from the fact the claim is another baseless emotional outburst, it is on record that Oyetola strengthened political maturity between the two towns.This is a man whose major project are cited in Osogbo while he was the governor and facilitated several federal projects to Osogbo. And if you think attacking him will earn Osogbo’s favour for your candidate, you must be extremely new to Osun politics.
Your claim that “people hate him” is a bold lie spoken with confidence but completely empty. How do you claim that a man who lost election by just 3.5% to his opposition is not popular, even when the said election is marred with many irregularities? If hatred is the measure, explain why APC continues to grow, why respected figures voluntarily align with him, and why aspirants still seek his blessing before making any move. What you call hatred is simply the frustration of a few disgruntled individuals like you and your pay masters whose ambitions outperform their capacities.
When you began listing names like someone reciting attendance for a gossip meeting, you only exposed the real influences behind your thinking. It is clear some names are dancing in your head. If you are bold, mention them directly. Stop hiding behind shadows. Come out with your real identity and stop using a pseudonym to throw stones at a leader whose political pedigree intimidates your entire camp.
Your claim that he “didn’t sit with his cabinet for three years” is another desperate stretch. The same Oyetola operated one of the most inclusive leadership models Osun has seen, before and after 2022. The fact that APC stayed intact after leaving power is proof enough of his unifying influence. Did your sponsor not attempt to meet with Oyetola’s former cabinet members? Why did he call it off suddenly? He should have gone ahead with the meeting. That is when he would know if he has the number or not , with regards to those who served Oyetola.
Then you resurrected stale salary narratives that were publicly clarified years ago. Osun’s debt profile then was transparent, its finances open, and its payment structure explained repeatedly. Oyetola did not owe any staff a dime during the four years of his administration, he ensure there’s regular payment of salaries and attend to pension while he also reduced the debt of the state, all these are in public domain.
Finally, your claim that the letter is not meant to “ridicule” Oyetola is the funniest part of all. Every sentence you wrote attacks him bitterly. If your intentions were genuine, you would write with your real identity not hide behind fake identity using a pseudonym to insult a man whose achievements you can’t match even in imagination. I
In the end, understand this clearly: insulting Oyetola will not help your principal, will not strengthen your camp, and will not change the political dynamics of Osun APC. Oyetola’s leadership would continue to unify the party, attract quality individuals, and stabilise the structure. No amount of anonymous rage or poorly constructed propaganda can alter that reality.
