Prince Emmanuel Kanu, younger brother of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has issued a stern warning to those celebrating and mocking the IPOB leader’s recent conviction.
In a Facebook post on Monday, Prince Emmanuel declared that the individuals allegedly responsible for the “unjust” sentencing of his brother would soon face their own “inevitable reckoning.”
Prince Emmanuel’s reaction comes amid continued social media commentary following Justice James Omotosho’s November 20, 2025, judgment which sentenced Nnamdi Kanu to life imprisonment on terrorism charges.
He said, “Those praising evil and illegitimately targeting Mazi Nnamdi Kanu through mockery and imprisonment will soon face inevitable reckoning.
“The same collective effort used to wrongfully convict Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will be their undoing. Their bases will fracture and implode, visible to the world.”
He warned that those who weaponised the law for political ends would not escape the consequences.
“Anyone attempting to exploit laws to imprison you will instead face merciless justice. Their schemes will backfire, and they will fall prey to the very pit they created, ensnared by superior laws,” he added.
Nnamdi Kanu, who is currently serving his sentence at the Sokoto Prison, was convicted on terrorism-related charges brought by the Federal Government under the Terrorism Prevention Amendment Act of 2013.
However, his legal team has rejected the ruling, arguing that the conviction was flawed because it relied on a law that had already been repealed. They contend that the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act 2022 superseded the law under which Kanu was tried, rendering the judgment null and void.
