“Regardless of our royal status, she made us work hard daily” – Toyin Lawani honors late mother as she recreates one of her iconic looks

Nigerian celebrity designer Toyin Lawani is honouring her late mother, Atinuke Babalola, to celebrate Mother’s Day.

Taking to her Instagram page, Toyin shared a photo of herself recreating one of her mother’s iconic looks. She credited her late mother for making her who she is today and noted how she taught her everything, from the importance of hard work and dedication to the value of kindness and compassion.

Lawani stated that despite their royal status, her mother made them work hard daily. The mother of three expressed sadness that her mother isn’t alive to see what she has become,, how good of a mother she is, and how she is training her kids like she trained her.

Regardless of Our Royal status, she made us work hard daily,
I wish she was here to see the King of Fashion that I’ve become. I wish she could see the successful entrepreneur and business mogul I’ve grown into.
I wish she could see the good mother I’ve become, passing on the lessons she taught me to my own children.

But even though she’s not here physically, I know she’s smiling down on me, proud of the person I’ve become.
I’m grateful for the values she instilled in me, for the sacrifices she made for our family, and for the unconditional love she showed me every day.

When Toyin turned 40 in April, Lawani honoured her late mother by visiting her graveside alongside her husband and children. Sharing a video of her visit to the cemetery, Toyin said her mother made her the person she is today.

In other news, the celebrity designer had recalled her traumatic ordeal during the last week of March. She shared a video of her first daughter in the hospital as she revealed that her eldest daughter was hospitalized and had to undergo a blood transfusion. She used her daughter’s case as an example that social media isn’t real, as she can chat and play with her online fans while going through the most difficult moments of her life.
