The brother of the former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, Isaac, has reacted to the trending video of Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, asking the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, to stop singing at the 10th coronation anniversary of the Ooni of Ife.
Naijaonpoint reports that in the viral video, Governor Adeleke was seen singing mid-speech to the amusement of the crowd, when Senator Tinubu approached the podium and, in a low tone, urged him to wrap up.
“I’ll give you five minutes to conclude your speech. Enough with the music, or I’ll switch off the microphone,” the First Lady was heard saying.
Reacting to the incident, which has generated public outrage, Fayose, in a video shared online, described Remi Tinubu’s action as an abuse of power.
Fayose wondered whether the wife of the United States President, Donald Trump, would ever do such a thing.
According to him, Tinubu’s wife’s behaviour could have been because she is unhappy that Adeleke has not defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said, “Imagine President Trump’s wife saying I will turn off the Microphone on a governor in his state…in his state ooo, not another state. In his state….Power!!! Absolute power!!!! Imagine, a whole governor cannot make a speech in peace.
“The wife of a president saying saying I will off mic if you don’t stop now. What a country! That is not nice. Gov Adeleke, am so sorry…Maybe it’s because you refused to jump and enter APC because why will she humiliate you like this? Abi is the video AI? This video is true…This is absolute power!!! How can you talk to a governor like this in a country where we have separation of power?”
