THE Health of Mother Earth Foundation (HOMEF) is set to host a captivating Book Day event on October 3, 2025, featuring renowned author and scholar Nduka Otiono as its special guest.
This public celebration of literature and environmental awareness at HOMEF’s headquarters in Nigeria promises to blend storytelling, poetry, and critical dialogue, aligning with the organisation’s mission to promote environmental justice and sustainable practices through cultural and intellectual engagement.
Otiono, a multiple award-winning author and Professor at Carleton University’s Institute of African Studies in Canada, will enthral attendees with readings from his acclaimed works, which weave together themes of culture, environment, and identity.
A former journalist and General Secretary of the Association of Nigerian Authors, Otiono has co-edited and authored around a dozen books, with his research published in top-tier academic journals.
His past roles include founding member of the Nigeria Prize for Literature board and UNESCO’s National Committee for Intangible Cultural Heritage for Nigeria, underscoring his deep influence in literary and cultural spheres.
