Rick Ross is opening up about a terrifying chapter in his life, which he details in his latest memoir.
The rapper recalled a 2022 incident when a flight he was on was forced to make an emergency landing after he suffered a seizure. Speaking from his Miami home,
Ross said the moment still feels unreal. “I was in the air and next thing I know, everything shifted,” he shared via TMZ.
At the time, Rozay was watching Will Smith’s film Emancipation but insists the movie was not the cause.
“It wasn’t the film,” he said with a laugh. “I was on a whole different journey.” Ross admitted he had taken psychedelic mushrooms and described himself as “deep in mushroom land” when his body gave out.
In 2011, Ross survived two seizures in one day and later said exhaustion and lifestyle choices caught up with him. Years later, another hospitalization pushed him to overhaul his diet and focus on fitness. “I had to choose life,” Ross has said of his transformation.
Those experiences shape his upcoming book, Renaissance Of A Boss: Notes From A Creative Reawakening, due May 2026. “This one goes deeper,” Ross said. “It’s a mind trip, but it’s real.”
