Nollywood actress Rita Daniels has broken her silence after losing the AGN presidential election.
On her Instagram page, she shared a video of herself reaching out to the less privileged. I’m the clip, the mother of Regina Daniels, who had distributed food and drinks to the crowd who gathered around her.
In her caption, she expressed gratitude to her Maker for all He has done for her.
“Thank you, God, for all you have done. May your name alone be praised. Hallelujah!”.
Kemi Filani reported that Rita had contested in the race for the presidency of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), running against the current National Secretary, Abubakar Yakubu.
The election took place on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Association’s Annual General Meeting in Benin, Edo State, to elect a successor to the outgoing president, Emeka Rollas.
Rita unfortunately lost the election to her opponent, Abubakar Yakubu.
In 2022, Rita became the subject of online mockery after being disgraced in the PDP House of Assembly primary election. She had contested to be a member of Aniocha South Constituency under PDP, Delta State. Unfortunately, she was only able to secure one vote from the delegate.
In March 2023, Rita bagged a Bachelor’s degree from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). Rita shared photos from her conviction ceremony as she revealed that she was heading to Law school.
Later that year, she was appointed as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on women’s mobilisation. Sharing the good news of her appointment on Instagram, Regina Daniels praised her for her hard work and persistence over the years. She noted how her selfless works have finally paid off and will continue to yield more good fruits.
