Former Governor of Akwa-Ibom State, Victor Attah, has asserted that Nigeria is in a dire situation.
Naijaonpoint reports that Attah made this statement on Wednesday, while responding to questions in an interview on Arise Television.
The ex-governor described the emergency rule in Rivers State as an affront, stressing that Nigeria is operating as if there is no constitution in the land.
According to him, the leaders have strayed from the vision they once agreed upon, and essential components of federalism have been dismantled and replaced with something entirely different.
He said, “The situation in Nigeria is dire. By all indications, the devil has arrived in the country.
“The one cure we desperately need is to acknowledge that we have strayed from the vision we once agreed upon for Nigeria.
“We had envisioned Nigeria as a federation, complete with all the essential components of federalism.
“Instead, we have dismantled those components and replaced them with something entirely different.”
In related news, former Director of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign, Oladimeji Fabiyi, has stated that everything happening in Rivers state, from the appointment of the Sole Administrator to the local government elections, was completely illegal.

Reacting to the outcome of the just-concluded local governments’ elections in Rivers State, Fabiyi said the country’s democracy is under serious threat.
