Rivers Challenges Surmountable With God On Our Side – Fubara

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has assured residents that the current political and governance challenges facing the state are not insurmountable, stressing that with divine intervention, better days lie ahead.

Fubara gave the assurance on Sunday during the 2026 Holy Ghost Rally organised by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.

The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu, said the state’s resilience and faith in God would see it through the difficult times.

“With the Almighty God on our side, our challenges are surmountable and our future remains hopeful,” Fubara said.

Speaking on the theme of the rally, “The All-Sufficient God,” Fubara described it as timely and reassuring, especially at a period marked by political uncertainty and public anxiety.

He said, “The theme serves as a reminder that, even amid uncertainties, God remains a reliable source of wisdom, strength, provision, and grace.

“When human efforts reach their limits, divine grace prevails.”

He thanked the RCCG for its spiritual support, moral guidance, and continued prayers for Rivers State and Nigeria, noting the church’s role in promoting unity, peace, and moral values across communities.

Delivering the sermon, RCCG General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, took his message from Genesis 17:1, declaring that God remains all-sufficient and able to meet every human need.

Adeboye, who was warmly received by thousands of worshippers at the stadium, reminded attendees that medical science and human efforts have limits, but God’s power is without end.

“There’s no problem too big for God. Even in hopeless situations, He can restore and revive,” he said.

The event drew worshippers from across the South-South region and beyond, offering a much-needed message of hope, faith, and resilience for many residents.

For the Fubara-led administration, the rally provided an opportunity to reaffirm spiritual solidarity with the people of Rivers State at a time of heightened political tensions and leadership disputes.
