This development shared on Ihunwo’s X (formerly Twitter) handle on Wednesday night, comes just six months after he appointed 100 special assistants in July 2024, raising the total to 230. Ihunwo is among the local government chairpersons appointed by Governor Siminalayi Fubara amidst the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State. Fubara has worked to replace former chairpersons loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, with his allies. In his announcement, Ihunwo listed the names of the new appointees, which include Helen Nyekwere, Josephine Wogu, Daisy Worgu, and many others. He urged the appointees to serve diligently in the interest of the Obio-Akpor community.
