Rotary Foundation Trustee Chair Mark Maloney to make transformational visit to Nigeria

The visit, from January 16 to 20, 2025, aims to highlight Rotary’s commitment to humanitarian service, partnerships, and impactful initiatives in Africa.

During his stay, Maloney will engage with top leadership, including a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on January 17 to discuss Rotary’s contributions to national development.

He will also connect with Rotarians and Rotaractors through Town Hall meetings in Abuja and Lagos.

Maloney’s visit will also focus on community outreach, including a symbolic polio immunization drive at Jahi Primary Health Centre in Abuja on January 16.

He will also visit impactful project sites, such as the Indo Eye Care Foundation in Lagos and underserved communities in Abuja.

Two major fundraising events are scheduled during the visit: a Gala Night in Abuja on January 17 and a Lagos Dinner on January 19.

These events aim to inspire increased contributions to The Rotary Foundation and unite Rotarians, friends, and partners in support of Rotary’s mission.

Rotary Trustee Ijeoma Pearl Okoro expressed optimism about the visit’s impact, stating that it will create positive vibes across communities in Nigeria and Ghana, showcasing how The Rotary Foundation is transforming lives.

Victor Onukwugha, Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, highlighted Rotary’s commitment to polio eradication, clean water, education, and disease prevention, which has made Nigeria polio-free and a model for impactful service.

The visit’s purpose includes advocacy, stewardship, fundraising, and showcasing The Rotary Foundation’s impact in Nigeria and globally, according to Governors Wole Kukoyi and Femi Adenekan.
