Ryan Garcia is setting the record straight after a planned livestream with Chrisean Rock was abruptly called off.
The boxer addressed the situation during a recent stream, saying the collaboration was never meant to be romantic and was instead focused on fun, fitness and content.
“I was just trying to be nice, train, and honestly just have fun on stream,” said Garcia, explaining that their earlier stream had gone well and inspired him to plan another.
“Rock climbing is a sport. That’s not even considered a date type of thing,” he said. “I was trying to keep it professional.”
Garcia said he felt blindsided when the stream was canceled at the last minute after dating speculation surfaced online. “Why even throw the word date in there?” he asked. “Just say it was canceled.”
Fans immediately flooded social media with reactions, with some backing Garcia’s explanation and others accusing both sides of chasing attention.
Despite the noise, Garcia insisted there are no hard feelings toward Rock. “It’s all love on my part,” he said. “We’re just moving on from that.”
