WATCH THE VIDEO HERE An unnamed operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) committed suic3de on Monday at his residence in Abuja.
It was gathered that the deceased, a member of Course 5, was a diligent, efficient, and unassuming officer of the anti-graft agency. The Commission is exploring possible factors, including mental health and family challenges, that may have contributed to the operative’s depression and eventual tragic decision.
The EFCC has, however, not released the operative’s name pending the conclusion of the investigation This incident has sent shockwaves through the organisation, and details will be provided as more information becomes available. The incident was confirmed by EFCC spokesperson Mr. Dele Oyewale to PRNigeria. He added that an investigation is ongoing to determine why the operative decided to take his life.
However, sources within the Commission also told revealed that the operative had been having problems with his immediate boss, a woman, for some time. It is not certain if this issue was responsible for his decision to end his life. The anti-graft agency has not released the name of the operative as the investigation is still ongoing.
