Super Eagles invitee Gift Orban is set for another chapter in his career after sealing a switch from TSG Hoffenheim to Serie A side Hellas Verona, Soccernet.ng reports.
According to reports from transfer expert Florian Plettenberg, the deal is already finalised with only medicals and paperwork standing in the way.
The agreement between both clubs is structured as a loan with an option to buy, which offers the Italian side a whole lot of flexibility in the transfer move.

Salary + Wages + Buy Option: Transfer Breakdown
Verona will pay €1 million up front to secure Gift Orban on loan from TSG Hoffenheim, while also taking on full responsibility for the striker’s wages throughout the duration of the deal.
The agreement also includes an option to buy set at €9 million, which Verona can trigger at the end of the season should the Nigerian forward impress in Serie A.
This structure means the total package could rise to €10 million, excluding the player’s wages, if Verona decide to trigger the option.
Gift Orban to Lyon, Hoffenheim
Orban only joined Hoffenheim from Olympique Lyon in January 2025 for a fee in the region of €9–12 million—including bonuses.
But after struggling for regular minutes in the Bundesliga, the club has opted to send him to Italy, where Verona are fighting to strengthen their attack and stay competitive in Serie A.
This move is expected to relaunch his career in a top European league. Hopefully, a recall to the Nigerian national team.
