Sallah: Ododo seeks support for Tinubu

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo has called on Nigerians to join hands and support President Bola Tinubu to enable him to achieve his laudable programmes and policies for the country.

Ododo in his sallah message to the people of the State in Okene , Okene local government area of the state shortly after he observed eid prayer to mark Eid-El-Kabir festival on Sunday, urged Nigerians irrespective of their political affiliation to join hands and support the many initiatives of the president in order to move the nation forward.

Speaking on the security situation of the State, the governor reaffirmed that his administration will continue to prioritize issues of security, stressing that Kogi State can never be a fertile land for any criminals to practice their dubious and ungodly trade. He therefore warned criminal elements to move out of the state or they face the full wrath of the law and the security agencies.

While felicitating with Muslims, Ododo urged the people to reflect on the spirit of the Sallah celebration to sacrifice more in the name of Allah, and to commit to actions that uplift the state and country at large.

“As a government, we are committed to protecting lives and property and promoting social welfare by delivering dividends of democracy to enhance the living conditions of our people at all times.

“Let us be security conscious and engage in consistent watch over our neighbourhoods and be prepared to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement agents who are present in all our communities,” he stated .

In his sallah message, the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland Ahmed Tijani Anaje cautioned his people against disobedience and behaviour that can impede the peaceful co-existence of inhabitants of his domain.

The royal father congratulated Muslims and urged them to imbibe the teaching of the religion through constant emulation of the prophet Muhammad’s deeds and ways of life.

The Chief Imam of Ebiraland Sheikh Salihu Abere prayed to God to give the governor the strength and patience to pilot the affairs of the state.

He called on Muslims to love one another and extend that to non Muslims in the spirit of peace, unity as exemplified by the holy prophet Muhammad.

Meanwhile, the Kogi State Head of Civil Service, Mr Elijah Evinemi, recognizing the significance of Eid Kabir in the Muslim community, has also felicitated with Muslims on this auspicious occasion

Mr Evinemi congratulatory message is in a statement made available to newsmen in Lokoja.

“Eid Mubarak to all Muslim brothers and sisters in Kogi State and beyond. May this auspicious occasion of Eid-al-Adha bring us peace, joy, and spiritual renewal.”

Mr Evinemi also admonished Muslims to remember the values of selflessness, compassion, and generosity that are at the heart of the Islamic faith.

“Let us strive to build a just, equitable, and peaceful society where all citizens can thrive and reach their full potential.”

Evinemi, in his message, emphasized the role of the entire workforce of the state in upholding the values of selflessness and obedience to constituted authority, urging them to rededicate themselves to their duties at all times.

HoS expressed gratitude to the state governor, Alhaji Usman Ododo, for providing an enabling environment for workers. He promised that the workers would reciprocate the gesture by ensuring the success of all government programmes and policies.

Evinemi prayed for peace and wisdom and good health for the governor to carry out the onerous task of administering the state.
