WATCH THE VIDEO HERE One of the areas that Samsung’s latest flagship phones have lagged behind their competition is RAM. That said, leaks surrounding the Galaxy S25 series have hinted at a noticeable RAM bump for the Ultra model. Now, another report from a reliable tipster backs up the claim and adds more details about the variants the device will be available in. The current Galaxy S24 series features a maximum of 12GB of RAM for all models. This figure pales in comparison to devices like the Pixel 9 Pro lineup that packs 16GB of RAM. There are even a few Android models that boast up to 24GB. RAM is a pretty important component for AI processing, so considering the company’s focus on its Galaxy AI suite, an improvement in this area becomes more important than ever. According to Jukanlosreve on X/Twitter, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be available with 16GB of RAM. The tipster claims that Samsung will sell the device in three variants. The base, mid-tier, and top-end models will feature 256GB + 12GB RAM, 512GB + 16GB RAM, and 1TB + 16GB RAM, respectively. If the report is true, you won’t have to go for the more expensive S25 Ultra to enjoy the benefits of the RAM bump. On the other hand, buyers of the base variant will have to settle for the classic 12GB of RAM of previous Galaxy S generations. For reference, the early 2020 Galaxy S20 Ultra was already available in 12GB of RAM variants. However, to be fair, the company has implemented the latest RAM formats available in each series, making the component faster and more energy efficient. If you’re not aware, the Galaxy S25 Ultra won’t be Samsung’s first flagship phone with 16GB of RAM. 2021’s Galaxy S21 Ultra has that honor, being available with both 12GB and 16GB of RAM. However, for unknown reasons, Samsung changed its strategy in subsequent launches. The company even downgraded the RAM capacity of the base variants of the S22 Ultra and S23 Ultra, featuring just 8GB. It’s likely that the company aimed to cut costs in order to boost profits, leading to user backlash in its day. Considering the rumors about a potential price increase for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the company will have to justify it. A RAM boost could be a good way to do that. Some Galaxy S25 Ultra variants will have 16GB of RAM, tipster claims
