It seems that Samsung has high sales expectations for the Galaxy S25 series. The South Korean giant wants to continue the good sales performance of the current Galaxy S24 lineup. A new report has revealed Samsung’s plans regarding production and shipments of phones in the Galaxy S25 series and foldable models.

Samsung plans to ship more Galaxy S25 units after successful Galaxy S24 series

According to South Korean outlet The Elec, Samsung plans to ship around 37 million units of Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra throughout 2025. For reference, the company had planned 35 million shipments of Galaxy S24 devices for this year. It seems that the brand’s latest flagship phones were even more popular than expected, so it slightly raises expectations for the next-gen ones.

Samsung believes that the implementation of the Galaxy AI suite in its Galaxy phones has boosted their popularity. AI-based features, along with other factors, led to double-digit growth in shipments and revenue for the Galaxy S24 series compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 lineup. The company even managed to place a model from the Galaxy S24 series in the top 10 smartphone sales for Q3 2024. A flagship Galaxy phone had not appeared in the third quarter sales rankings of any year since 2018.

Regarding foldable phones, the company has more moderate expectations. This is in line with the latest predictions from Ross Young, the analyst and insider of the display industry. Young stated that 2025 will bring a new decline in sales for foldable devices, just as it happened in 2024. However, 2026 could be the year of the segment’s recovery, with growth of up to 30%.

The Galaxy Z Flip FE could have a limited release

According to The Elec’s report, Samsung plans to produce seven million foldables by 2025. This includes not only future models but also current ones. For this year, the brand projects six million foldables shipped by 2024.

Recent leaks have revealed that Samsung is working on a Galaxy Z Flip FE. As its name suggests, it could be a more affordable variant in the clamshell phone lineup. However, according to the latest report, Samsung only plans to produce 900,000 units of the device. This suggests that the company will only launch it in a few regions instead of globally.

Lastly, the source claims that Samsung will produce three million Galaxy Z Flip 7 and two million Galaxy Z Fold 7 units.
