WATCH THE VIDEO HERE Samsung and Google have been developing an XR platform for some time now. According to reports, what were originally XR headsets will actually be Gemini-powered smart glasses. A new source has revealed Samsung’s potential plans for its XR device in 2025. Earlier this month, a report claimed that Samsung will release the device in teaser form during its first Unpacked event of the next year. On the other hand, the final release of the product to the commercial market could take place in the second half of 2025. Now, a report from Korean outlet Sedaily backs up these claims and offers some more details. Leaks claim that Samsung will hold the first Unpacked event of 2025 on January 22-23. The Galaxy S25 series and One UI 7 are expected to take the lion’s share of the spotlight during the conference. However, latest reports suggest that we’ll get an early look at Samsung’s XR glasses. The company may adopt a similar announcement strategy to that of the Galaxy Ring. That is, an early confirmation at the beginning of the year, showcasing certain aspects such as the product’s name and design, followed by a definitive launch several months later. Sedaily’s report claims that Samsung plans to produce around 50,000 units of the wearable next year. However, the company projects around 20,000–30,000 shipments for the second half of 2025. As with the Galaxy Ring, Samsung could use its second annual Unpacked event to launch the XR glasses. This year, the South Korean giant announced its new foldables, TWS earbuds, smartwatches, and the Galaxy Ring during the conference. It’s possible that in 2025 we’ll see something similar, but with the company’s new wearable as its most innovative tech product. The report refers to the prototype of Samsung’s XR glasses as “Project Infinite.” Samsung believes that these products could become a major part of its business in the coming years. A market research firm projects that the XR market will grow from $31.3 billion in 2022 to $111.5 billion in 2028. So, Samsung wants to be there before the “boom” happens.More details revealed about Samsung’s plans for its XR glasses in 2025
