SANEF appoints new CEO to deepen financial inclusion

Shared Agent Network Expansion Facilities Limited has appointed Uche Uzoebo as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, the company said in a statement on Sunday.

Uzoebo succeeds Ronke Kuye, the pioneer CEO, who led SANEF’s efforts to expand financial inclusion and agent banking in Nigeria. With more than two decades of experience in banking and financial services, Uzoebo is expected to drive further growth in the sector.

Before her appointment, Uzoebo served as SANEF’s Chief Distribution and Stakeholder Engagement Officer, where she played a key role in business expansion, stakeholder engagement, and strategic initiatives to strengthen the organisation’s agent network.

“Her leadership has been instrumental in advancing agent expansion, account opening, technology solutions, policy advocacy, financial literacy, and capacity building,” the statement said.

Commenting on her appointment, Uzoebo said, “I am honoured to lead SANEF at such a crucial time. Financial inclusion remains a key driver of economic growth, and I am committed to deepening agent banking networks, expanding financial literacy, and leveraging technology to ensure wider access to financial services.”

SANEF highlighted Uzoebo’s track record in working with regulators, banks, financial service providers, and development organisations to enhance financial access points and promote digital financial services.

“Her strong business acumen and leadership qualities have driven the advancement of digital financial services and economic and financial inclusion in the ecosystem,” the company stated.

Under her leadership, SANEF said it remains committed to expanding financial access through agent banking, innovative technology solutions, and partnerships.

Uzoebo is a certified product manager, a licensed national business development service provider, and an honorary senior member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.

She is also a fellow of The Microfinance Association, UK, and a member of the Association of International Product Marketing & Management.

SANEF plays a crucial role in Nigeria’s financial inclusion strategy by working with key stakeholders to improve financial access, particularly for underserved populations.

The company expressed confidence that Uzoebo’s leadership would further strengthen its agent banking and financial literacy efforts nationwide.
