Scores Of Farmers Killed, Others Abducted As Boko Haram Invade Community In Borno

Terrorists suspected to be members of the Boko Haram sect have allegedly taken the lives of at least 40 farmers in the Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State.

Reports indicate that the incident occurred around 4:30 PM on Sunday in the agricultural community of Kayakura village, located within the Doron Baga ward, and has resulted in numerous farmers being reported missing.

Naijaonpoint reports that this attack follows closely on the heels of a similar incident in the Chibok community, situated in the southern region of the state, where two individuals were killed, and a church was set on fire just 24 hours prior.

Daily Trust on Monday quoted local sources to have disclosed that the assailants from the notorious group descended upon the villages in significant numbers, unleashing gunfire indiscriminately.

“As we speak, many people are missing and they killed more than 40 farmers, predominantly those who escaped the attack in Gwoza local government area,” one of the source said.

However, a security source in the area gave the number of people killed as 30.

“Thirty people lost their lives during the attack on the farmers in the Doron Baga ward,” the source said.

However, the state command of the Nigeria Police Force has yet to issue any official statement regarding the attack.
