A notorious bandit leader, Kachalla Na’Allah, has been neutralised by a combined team of security operatives in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State, in what authorities have described as a major breakthrough in the fight against rural banditry.

Security sources who spoke with Vanguard confirmed that Na’Allah was killed on Friday during an ambush between Girnashe and Kuka Tara villages in Tsabre Ward.

Na’Allah, believed to be a cousin of the wanted bandit leader Ibrahim Chimmo, reportedly operated within the Sububu Forest axis, a known hideout for several criminal groups.

According to a reliable security source, the operation was carried out by operatives of the Mobile Police Force and the Community Guard, with critical support from Nigerian Army troops.

The development comes just days after troops of the Nigerian Army’s 8 Division killed another infamous bandit leader, Kachalla Kallamu, in an operation in Sabon Birnin Local Government Area.

Both incidents are seen as part of renewed security efforts to decimate the leadership of criminal gangs operating across the state’s rural communities.

Reacting to the development, the Special Adviser on Security to Governor Ahmad Aliyu, retired Colonel Ahmad Usman, praised the security agencies for their commitment to restoring peace in Sokoto.

He also commended residents for their support and cooperation with the armed forces and urged continued vigilance and community collaboration.
