WATCH THE VIDEO HERE An Area Court in Jos, on Tuesday, sentenced Yilji Nensenka, a security guard to 12 months imprisonment for stealing his employer’s generator and car battery. The judge, Shawomi Bokkos, sentenced the convict after he pleaded guilty to the offence. The judge however gave the convict an option of fine of N50, 000. He also asked the convict to pay a compensation of N137, 000 or risk six months in jail in default. Earlier, the Police Prosecutor, Insp Daniel Damulak, told the court that the case was reported at the Anglo Jos Police Station on March 7, by one Mr Hamzat Saheed, the complainant. Damulak said that the complainant, reported that the now convict who was employed by him to guard his house, breached the trust and stole his generator and car battery valued at N275,000. He said that during police investigation, the accused person confessed to have committed the offence. He added that the offence contravened the Plateau State Penal Code law of Northern Nigeria.
