Security operatives in Enugu State have made a chilling discovery at a construction site linked to one Prophet Chinedu Solomon Ezedike, uncovering a human skull and ritual paraphernalia believed to be connected to recent high-profile murders in the state.
Led by the Divisional Police Officer of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area, the operation targeted the ongoing building of a supposed “Synagogue” church structure situated at Abile Hill, Isi-Agu, Ibagwa-Aka. The site is alleged to have been used for ritualistic activities.
The disturbing find adds a new layer to the unresolved gruesome murder of four siblings in the area — an incident that has sparked widespread public outrage.
Confirming the development, Barr. Ferdinand Ukwueze, Chairman of Igbo-Eze South LGA, disclosed via his official Facebook page that intelligence-led security operations have been ramped up across suspected hideouts and criminal enclaves. The targeted building was promptly demolished following the discovery.
“To our greatest dismay, a human skull and a ritual staff were discovered from the site, lending further credence to the disturbing and tragic circumstances surrounding the claims and allegations against Ezedike,” Ukwueze wrote.
“More hidden locations will be discovered and visited, as we remain relentless in our pursuit against all forms of criminality in our LGA.”
He assured that the campaign to rid the local government of criminal elements aligns with the broader security framework under Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, adding that there would be no safe haven for evildoers in Enugu State.
The development follows the demolition of the main church building previously linked to Ezedike, who remains at the center of a multi-agency investigation.
Meanwhile, in a related crackdown, an immigration officer, Prince Ugochukwu Orji, has been rewarded with ₦5 million for arresting Ichie Billion, another alleged ritualist attempting to flee Nigeria via the Seme Border.
Ichie Billion, reportedly a fake native doctor wanted in connection with ritual murders, attempted to bribe Orji with up to ₦15 million, but the officer pretended to cooperate until confirmation was received from superiors. He was subsequently handcuffed and arrested.
Chief Ebuka Onunkwo, Chairman of Seahorse Lubricants and APGA senatorial aspirant, presented the reward, hailing Orji’s courage and moral uprightness.
“Ugochukwu stood in the gap when it mattered. In a system where many are tempted to sell their conscience, he chose to uphold the law,” Onunkwo said.
Amid this climate of fear and outrage, Governor Peter Mbah has transmitted a bill titled ‘Maintenance of Internal Security, Vigilance and Order’ to the Enugu State House of Assembly. The bill seeks to regulate spiritual practices, outlaw ritual killings, and criminalize illegal forest encampments and bulletproof charms.
The proposed law mandates registration of all spiritual practitioners, including native doctors and diviners. Non-compliance could result in fines ranging from ₦1 million to ₦5 million, imprisonment up to two years, or both.
This legislative move signals a hardline stance by the state government as it battles a resurgence of occultism and ritual crimes.
