‘See You In Court Akpabio’ – Senator Natasha Reacts To ₦200 Billion Defamation Suit

Natasha and Akpabio

The Senator representing Kogi Central at the National Assembly, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has confirmed receipt of the newly instituted ₦200 billion suit against her by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, over allegations of sexual harassment.

Naijaonpoint recalls that Natasha had, in February 2025, during an interview on ARISE Television, accused Akpabio of sexual harassment.

The senator detailed an incident from December 8, 2023, when she and her husband visited Akpabio’s residence in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital.

During the visit, Natasha alleged that the senate president held her hand, led her around his house, and then made inappropriate advances towards her, even in her husband’s presence.

In a post on her Instagram page on Friday, Natasha expressed excitement that Akpabio had instituted a fresh suit against her over the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges’ failure to grant her an audience.

The Senator added that the lawsuit offers her the chance to prove how she was sexually harassed and how her refusal has led to a series of unprovoked and unprecedented attacks on her.

She wrote, “Today being the 5th day of December, 2025, I’m in receipt of the newly instituted 200 billion naira suit against me by Senator Godswill Akpabio claiming defamation on sexual harassment.

“Now, I am glad that Sen. Akpabio has brought this up because the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges failed to grant me audience in this issue relying on the fact that Godswill Akpabio’s wife had instituted a defamatory case against me. Therefore they couldn’t attend to a matter already in court.

“Albeit, I couldn’t proceed to court because by senate rules, I must still present my case before the Ethics committee (same committee that recommended my illegal suspension).

“Alas, I now have a chance to prove how I was sexually harassed and how my refusal to give into his demands unleashed series of unprovoked and unprecedented attacks on my person.

“See you in court Godswill Akpabio.”
