The lawmaker representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan is set to empower members of her constituency with over 100 made-in-Nigeria electric vehicles.
A statement issued on Friday, by Udensi Bernard said the locally assembled vehicles will be handed over to 100 individuals, especially women, to help reduce the cost of transportation and improve logistics for business owners.
He added that the lawmaker who has been instrumental in the development and empowerment of her people said she wanted to do something different for members of her constituents.
Benard noted that the Kogi State lawmaker said, “This time, I want to empower them with electric vehicles.”
According to Bernard, Akpoti-Uduaghan’s drive towards this particular initiative marked the beginning of their journey to assembling the various electric vehicle models which she carefully selected for her people.
He said, “Over 100 individuals, especially women, will benefit from this initiative. For me, this is one of the most impactful forms of empowerment anyone can offer their community.”
According to Bernard, the vehicles will require minimal maintenance and contribute effectively towards preserving the environment.
In a post made on Facebook, Bernard added that, “For farmers, they make it easier to transport farm produce to markets, for business owners, they lower logistics expenses, for transport operators, they increase profits while reducing dependency on petrol or diesel.
“Beyond the economic benefits, this empowerment program promotes renewable energy awareness, inspires innovation among the youth, and aligns with Nigeria’s commitment to sustainable development and green technology,” Bernard wrote on Facebook.
He also stated that the empowerment programme adopted by Senate Akpoti-Uduaghan is a visionary step toward building a cleaner, smarter, and more self-reliant Nigeria.
