The nominees were appointed by President Bola Tinubu in August and subsequently required Senate approval to take their positions. Abdullahi, who chairs the joint committee on national planning, economic affairs, and finance, expressed confidence in the qualifications of the nominees, stating that all are fit to hold public office.
