The National Assembly has fixed next week for the public hearing on the tax reform bills in Abuja, Business Post reports.

On Monday, February 24 and Tuesday, February 25, 2025, the Senate will host members of the public for the hearing by 10 am at the National Assembly Complex, Three Arms Zone, Abuja.

From Wednesday to Friday, 28, 2025, the House of Representatives will hold the public hearing from 12 noon daily at the Conference Halls 028 & 231, House of Representatives New Building, National Assembly Complex, Abuja.

The public hearing is to allow members of the public, including interest groups, civil society organisations (CSOs) and others to have their input in the controversial tax reform bills.

Recall that last year, President Bola Tinubu presented the bills to the National Assembly in a bid to make tax administration seamless in the country.

It is part of the strategies of Mr Tinubu to boost economy and ensure the business environment is friendlier to investors.

However, a few sections of the society, particularly interest groups from the northern part of the country have resisted the bills.
