Senator representing Lagos East at the National Assembly, Tokunbo Abiru, on Wednesday visited the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Youth Secretariat in Abuja.
Naijaonpoint reports that the visit was part of his efforts to engage with youth-focused initiatives and support innovation among young Nigerians.
The Senator, who chairs the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance, and other Financial Institutions, toured the newly launched facility, which includes a multimedia studio, podcast centre, game room, boardroom, lounge, and spaces for events and youth training.
In a statement by his media aide, Enitan Olukotun, the senator praised the layout and setup of the centre, saying it creates the right atmosphere for young people to express their ideas and connect with others.
Abiru expressed his desire to work with the youth arm of the party.
He said that many young Nigerians are using technology and innovation to shape the future, and he believes the new youth secretariat reflects the same spirit.
During a panel session at the event, Abiru said that the energy and ideas coming from young Nigerians show that the country’s future can be better if the right support systems are in place.
He promised to remain involved and offer support where needed.
APC National Youth Leader, Dr. Dayo Israel, who received the Senator at the secretariat, appreciated the visit and restated the wing’s goal to promote youth participation in politics and national development.
