WATCH THE VIDEO HERE Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, the former Governor of Abia State, paid a private visit to President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa on Sunday night. The details of the visit were not disclosed to the public. “Tonight, I paid a private visit to His Excellency President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his residence” Kalu wrote on his official Facebook page. President Tinubu and Senator Kalu have a long-standing relationship, having served as governors in 1999 and maintained a connection spanning over 40 years. They are both in the same political divide, the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC. In a recent interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Senator Kalu expressed his interest in running for president in 2027, provided President Tinubu does not contest for a second term. “Let me tell you, first and foremost, I’m qualified to be a President, and I’m competent. We have already a candidate in our political party unless he is not running. If the party gives me the opportunity to fly their flag, it’s a privilege, it’s not something that will I like? It’s an opportunity given by the party. It’s not about me. My interest in 2027 is to come back, be a lawmaker, sit in the Senate and work in the Senate”, the lawmaker disclosed in October.
