Senator Karimi, Tinubu Support Group Launch ₦300M Bursary for Kogi Students (₦100K Each)

The Senator Sunday Steve Karimi Education Foundation, in partnership with the Tinubu Support Group, has unveiled the 2025 edition of its bursary award scheme for undergraduates of Kogi State origin.

A total of ₦300 million will be disbursed to 3,000 qualified students currently enrolled in public tertiary institutions across Nigeria. Each beneficiary will receive ₦100,000 to support their academic pursuits.

The initiative is fully funded by Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, who represents Kogi West Senatorial District in the National Assembly. It is designed to promote access to education and alleviate financial pressure on students from the state.

Distribution Across Senatorial Districts

The bursary slots have been equitably allocated as follows:

  • Kogi West: 1,390 beneficiaries

  • Kogi East: 1,000 beneficiaries

  • Kogi Central: 610 beneficiaries

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the bursary award, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Must be an undergraduate student in a public university, polytechnic, or college of education

  2. Applications must be complete, with all required documents correctly uploaded

  3. Submissions made before 1st August 2025 will be automatically disqualified

  4. Only applications submitted via the official portal will be considered

  5. Final-year students, past beneficiaries of the 2024 bursary, and students in private institutions are not eligible

Application Details

The application portal, www.sundaykarimi.org  will be open from 1st August to 31st August 2025. Interested candidates are advised to apply within this period, as late entries will not be accepted.

In a statement, the foundation reaffirmed its commitment to a fair and transparent selection process:

This intervention is expected to boost student morale and aligns with broader national efforts to improve access to quality education through targeted financial support and scholarship opportunities.
