The Sentimental Value trailer reveals the most emotional moments from Stellan Skarsgård’s Oscar-worthy movie. Directed by Joachim Trier, who co-wrote the script with Eskil Vogt, the two having received an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay for The Worst Person in the World (2022), their latest film, Sentimental Value, premiered at Cannes this past May and is also garnering major Oscar buzz.
Now, NEON has released the second official trailer for Sentimental Value. It follows sisters Nora and Agnes, who reconnect with their estranged father, the charming and once-famous director Gustav (played by Stellan Skarsgård), who offers stage actress Nora a leading role in the film he hopes will revive his career.
However, when Nora refuses, she later learns that her father has handed the role to an ambitious young Hollywood actress. Now, the sisters must confront their tangled relationship with Gustav, while contending with the presence of an American star suddenly thrust into their already fraught family dynamic. In addition to Emmy nominee Stellan Skarsgård (Chernobyl), the cast also includes BAFTA nominee Renate Reinsve (The Worst Person in the World), Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, Emmy nominee Elle Fanning (The Great), Anders Danielsen Lie, Cory Michael Smith, Catherine Cohen, Andreas Stoltenberg Granerud, and Øyvind Hesjedal Loven.
