The Service Compact with All Nigerians (SERVICOM) under the Presidency, has called on ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) to put citizens at the center of their policies and services.

Naijaonpoint reports that SERVICOM’s National Coordinator, Nnenna Akajemeli, said team collaborations within government ministries, departments and agencies would drive sustainable development to attain excellent service delivery nationwide.

Akajemeli stated this while delivering the keynote address at the National Orientation Agency’s (NOA) inauguration of the SERVICOM Unit in the agency, on Monday, in Abuja.

“National Orientation Agency through the SERVICOM Unit must foster collaborations amongst stakeholders to drive service delivery improvements for sustainable developments in MDAs.

“Service is what the people are entitled to expect from us, hence the need to sustain service delivery initiatives that would make much impact in the Agency and add value to the renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

As public servants service is what we offer ourselves for and service is what the people are entitled to expect from us,” she said.

Akajemili charged the agency to achieve its vision and consistently raise awareness around activities and programmess, while also providing timely and credible feedback that would positively change the attitudes, values and behaviors of the citizens.

She advised the agency to accurately and adequately inform and sufficiently mobilize citizens to act in ways that promote peace, harmony, and national development in the country.

SERVICOM’s National Coordinator suggested improving service delivery by carrying out awareness campaigns tailor-made for regions, demographics and specific community needs, ensuring that the right messages reach the right audiences.

Akajemeli encouraged the agency to ensure all communications issued out were “straightforward devoid of jargons or ambiguity, messages she said, should be culturally relevant and aligned with the understanding levels of different communities“.

On his part, the Director General of NOA, Lanre Issa-Onilu, in his welcome address, said the agency was intensifying efforts to communicate government programmes to Nigerian citizens.

He commended the SERVICOM’s drive toward driving service improvements in ministries, departments and agencies of government that are visible and impactful to the citizens.

Lanre pledged his commitment and support to the SERVICOM Unit of the agency inaugurated.

We would give you much support, but to whom much is given much is expected,” he stated.
