Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has denied claims by Nollywood actress Sarah Martins that he gifted her ₦20 million following her recent arrest and release by the Lagos State Environmental Task Force for obstructing a public walkway while feeding the homeless.
Recall that Sarah Martins had earlier taken to social media to celebrate what she called a “from disgrace to grace” moment, alleging that Seyi Tinubu came to her rescue after her encounter with law enforcement. ... quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions online.

However, Seyi Tinubu has now cleared the air. In a statement shared via his official Instagram page, he said he had no direct involvement in any donation to the actress, stressing his unwavering respect for law and order in Lagos State.

“I have been informed that some friends of mine, moved by compassion, raised funds to support a young woman who had an encounter with the law over an environmental violation,” he wrote.“Their intention, I believe, was to help her secure a proper space to run her business, not to undermine the law. I appreciate their kindness and concern.”

Seyi further emphasized that while he values acts of compassion, they must never come at the cost of legal responsibility.“That said, I must emphasize that while their hearts were in the right place, I do not support any act that violates the laws of Lagos State,” he added.
“Lagos thrives on order, and Nigeria’s strength depends on our collective respect for both our law and order. Empathy and patriotism must always go together.”His statement came amid public debate on social media over whether the alleged donation, if true, would have encouraged disregard for public regulations.

By distancing himself from the claim, Seyi Tinubu reaffirmed his stance that compassion should always align with responsibility and that genuine support for others must still uphold the laws and values that define Lagos.
