Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has been installed as the Okanlomo of Yorubaland by Abimbola Owoade, Alaafin of Oyo.
The chieftaincy installation ceremony was held on Sunday at the Alaafin’s palace in Oyo town, Oyo State.
Tinubu, an entrepreneur known for business ventures and youth-oriented initiatives, has in recent years featured prominently alongside the oresident during official and political engagements.
Layal Tinubu, his wife, also received a traditional title at the ceremony and was installed as the Yeye Okanlomo of Yorubaland.
Abdul’aziz Yari, former Zamfara governor and senator representing Zamfara west, was similarly honoured and installed as the Obaloyin of Yorubaland.
Several political and government figures attended the ceremony, including Godswill Akpabio, senate president.
Also present was Gbenga Daniel, senator representing Ogun east senatorial district.
Members of the house of representatives attended the event under the leadership of Benjamin Kalu, deputy speaker.
The gathering also featured members of the federal executive council and traditional rulers drawn from different parts of Nigeria and the Republic of Benin.
Senior government officials present included Bayo Adelabu, minister of power, Adeyemo Adeniran, statistician-general of the federation, and Olawale Edun, minister of finance and minister of the economy.
Teslim Folarin, the Agba-Akin Olubadan of Ibadanland, was among the dignitaries at the ceremony.
